Blackheath CC's 1st XI continued their fine early season league form with a comprehensive demolition of lowly Bickley Park.
Despite a lacklustre opening day defeat against Sibton Park, the 1st XI had recorded bat-first victories against Bromley and Sevenoaks going into Saturday's clash with bottom of the table Bickley Park.
Chris Willetts elected to bat and Blackheath were handed the initiative as early on as the first over when Bickley Park opened with an ageing spinner and proceeded to drop 4 men outside of the ring, including long off and long on.
The Club's new look opening pair of Zobie Sharif and Alex…

After good pre-season workouts at Brondesbury and Sawbridgeworth, Blackheath CC's 1st XI began competitive proceedings at Shenfield CC in the Conference Cup.
As skipper Chris Willetts won the toss on a bright yet blustery day, he elected to bat in the knowledge that Zobie Sharif and the returning David Hammond would have a little extra motivation to impress the gathering Essex crowd.
They did not disappoint and despite a reasonable opening burst from the youthful Shenfield attack and some committed and enthusiastic fielding from the home side, the pair had negated the new ball threat and had amassed 65 before Zobie fell…

Time to pull your poorly manufactured Blackheath whites out of the bottom of the wardrobe and dust of your moth-eaten kit from the garage (if you own kit)... yes, that time of the year where we have to endure Saturday afternoons in each other's company again is almost here.

That honeymoon period will largely…

Blackheath CC's 1st XI will play Premier League cricket once again in 2011 after securing the points required for promotion with one league game remaining. An inauspicious yet enthralling afternoon which saw Blackheath suffer a heavy defeat at Beckenham also saw Hythe mount a late rally on the south coast to deny nearest challengers Sandwich the victory they required to go into the last game of the year with any chance of being promoted.
Earlier Blackheath skipper Chris Willetts had won the toss at Foxgrove Road and despite the midweek deluge and everything about the match conditions suggesting he should…

Blackheath CC's 1st XI recovered from defeats to Beckenham (league) and Bromley (cup) the previous weekend with a relatively comfortable win away at Folkestone. Despite a revenge of sorts away at Bromley in the national 20/20 on Wednesday night, the victory was important to get the Club's league campaign back on track, and they find themselves back at the summit of the Kent League Division One as a consequence of the victory and Whitstable's failure to beat Beckenham.
Chris Willetts lost another toss and Folkestone elected to bat first on a firm wicket and in ideal batting conditions. The new ball pair of…
