5s V Shooters Hill - de ja vue strikes!

A certain feeling of de ja vue was experinced by the 5th team skipper this past Saturday. In what should have been the game of the season so far, the 5s failed in their task of taking control of the league. The toss was always going to be crucial with Blackheath desperate to get first go on the Sam Mont track, unfortunately they duly called tails and choose to bat. The 5's

After struggling to 40 odd for 4 the 5's applied themselves on a usual challenging Crofton Albion pitch. The bad ball went for 4 every over with patience and singles accounting for the rest. Lovely acceleration from Vic in final 10 ably supported by the 5s resident overseas player Mr Corey Kirby. A score of 240 was never going to be chased down by Rasra but 10 wickets was the key. We finished just short with 9 after thowing it up with 30 runs coming in last 4 overs. Pred 3 for and Sam 3 for. Now onto the top of table…

A solid performance from the opening 2 set up the 5s for a comprehansive 120 run victory. Bowlers a little of key at start, but fully redeemed at conclusion

After inserting the oppo on what could be only described as a result wicket!!! we bowled good lines and stayed tight in the field.  A solid start for the season with good spirit in continual rain. Roll on next week......! 5th Team
