Open Invitation to all junior members

Dear Player

As exams finish and the U16 league program winds down you may find more time for cricket on Saturday and Sundays. I thought I'd take the opportunity to write and make sure that you know that we are keen for you to transition from junior to senior cricket and continue playing up at the Blackheath Cricket Club.

We currently have 10 sides on Saturday and 3 on Sunday, although that can easily be increased if demand warrants it. Therefore we have more that enough matches for the senior teams that I know that we can get you involved in. The captains will make sure that you get a full game, for example a proper chance to bat or bowl (or both). They will be aware that your cricketing education is still on going and give appropriate advice and encouragement.

The selection process starts on Monday when we gather availability for the following week - then teams are picked and confirmed Thursday morning. Make sure that if you have made yourself available, that you are definitely committed to play & that if you have any doubts, let the captain know well in advance. Basically - do not say you can play - then drop out Friday night / Saturday morning, as it causes administrative difficulties and can usually be avoided. Besides, it is easier to get a replacement player on Thursday than Saturday morning !
