I'm sure you'll agree that it looks better if the whole team turns out in similar styles. Therefore, buy some Blackheath Kit.

If you have not played for a while have a look here - Basics

Teams - you'll notice that we run 9 Saturday league teams, which is a bit usual for a cricket club. We have found that in the last few years we have attracted a number of good cricketers and that by expanding the number of teams we can accomodate them. It also means that the competition for places is sharp and the standard of the cricket has improved. Some would say as important is that the bar is very lively on Saturday night as teams return with tales of away matches and success (and occassional failure). The idea is "Quality and Quantity".

Through this growth, and a successful junior section, we now have 9 very competitive sides. We have 4 sides in the Kent league, playing county wide 1st and 2nd XI cricket. And we have 4 sides in the top divisions of the two best local leagues, playing the best local 1st, 2nd 3rd & 4th XI's. On Sunday we have teams in two leagues and run a non-league side. While we take the cricket very seriously on the field, there is still plenty of time to smile and enjoy the atmoshphere. As I've said, there is always opportunity for all types of player. And if we have too many players - we'll just start other side.

For the last 4 years Nick Courtney has produced an outstanding Annual Report . These are common place in Australian clubs, but I have not seen many over here. It is a fantastic summary of the whole season for the whole Club. Please have a read, it's something that we are proud of .

There are a number of pictures of the Club House, players and teams. The pictures from the Awards Dinner 2005 are on the site and capture a great evening.

Have a look round the rest of the site - there is plenty of additional detail about the Club- some excellent memories from past players in history. If you want to look at playing performance look at tables & results and if you want to look for averages look at batting and bowling. These links will take you into our play-cricket site which is where our scroecards are recorded. This system generates all our statistics for our Club. By changing the filters at the top of the page, any number of statistics can be generated.

I'm putting some more links up on the links page. You can find links to our Blackheath CC play-cricket site as well as the various league sites. There is a great link to all the league sites in England that are on the play-cricket system .. and most are. Therefore you can look up other clubs, maybe your old club, or have a look how friends are doing. If you want to find a friends average .. providing their club uses the system properly - do this ... go to the league, find the club, look at the results, click on a scorecard, then click on the player. By doing that I can see that David "Carlos" Fox averaged 17.14 from 14 matches for OD Cuaco in 2005. Have a browse, look up some old friends and old clubs (remember that you can see the final league tables)..... but try and avoid this one .... Jon Taylor . I have also put up some links to the grade clubs in Sydney and Victoria, which you can naviagte through to find a number of clubs - often with links into scorecards ..etc. There's a link on there for Balwyn and Rosanna.

Hopefully that is a reasonable introduction - if any of the links don't work - tell me.
