Omar Khan Dream Team - Selected from 1st XI players at the Club since 1994
Richard Jerman- without doubt the mainstay of the ist team batting line up for the last 5 years and has developed into a more than capable off spin bowler- always backs himself and a bit of a T!
David Maslen for sublime natural talent, beautiful wrists and my favourite batsmen in club cricket to watch, unfortunately played back too much at the Rectum - only disappointment!!
Matt Featherstone-larger than life character-have you ever seen him down hearted about a thing and will be remembered for smashing the league batting record before we were relegated to Div 1- shot Feathers!!!
Paul Frith- Firey by name firey by nature- a tough no nonsense character, shrewd tactician, wonderful fielder and gutsy batsmen- the type you'd want in the trenches with you!!The best captain I've played with at Blackheath
Chris Swadkin- What can I say about this man- still capable of big runs at the age of 54, supreme pie thrower par excellence- taken the most amazing catches and one of the greatest fielders I have ever seen- Unfortunately doesn't drink enough!
Mike Olton- this one does drink enough and spends too much time on that cursed fruit machine- what a clean hitter this one was and a great foli for Master Hooper in his pomp- dreamy over extra cover and rather aerial!!!
Simon Williams- great hands and lovely to bowl at behind the stumps- Him and Olton would have been interesting to watch bat together- large head and large hitter!!
Min Patel- the sides only full time pro- unlucky not to win more caps for England- good drinker and another healthy smoker!!!
Rupert Hill- ex lead singer of the Stylistics- what an action this one had and still has only it happens to be 40 miles an hour slower than what it was 20 years ago- still loyal to the cause and introduced me to Viv Richards!!
Andy Hooper-never forget it when he called me a f-----g c--t for dropping a catch as a 13 year old in the Sunday 1st eleven- intimidating little shit with a ball in his hand- the greatest bowler Blackheath has ever had???
Darrel Carter- unreliable top man, obviously playing at the wrong club now but will return to his roots one day-Looked after Bob Ross' ashes admirably when they were sprinkled over our wonderful ground that we all love so much!
12th Man
Lyndon Williams - for always being there, a great wag, one of the fuunniest men ever and a great cricket week supporter
13th Man
Andrew Watts- the gentle giant- part of the original dream ticket, captain and vice captain ie Khan and Watts that never quite worked-solid performer with ball and re discovering that lovely extra cover drive in the Scobbies
Howzat - Perhaps we'll have this dream team playing against the 1st team in cricket week next year ?
