Hope you are wintering well.

And keeping fit and in good shape for the season.

Winter Indoor Nets start Tuesday 22nd February

They are at The Oval (Ken Barrington Centre)

We have 3 lanes booked from 7-9pm

The nets will every Tuesday from 22nd Feb to 12th April

Feb ~ 22nd

March ~ 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th

April ~ 5th, 12th

7 weeks of nets.

Plenty of chance to get your eye in

Or just get the muscle groups working

Try and make 7 sessions - put them in your diary now

There is enough public transport home / enough to share a cab home / a few drivers

And it's fine to have an hour if you can't make the whole session

We have a armful of level 2 coaches ~ so plenty of advice is available

All players are welcome and encouraged to attend

There is enough capacity for everyone to have a useful net

The 3 nets end up graded by team / level .. and organised by team captains

It gives you a chance to practice with peers and test yourself against players from other teams

Therefore a good way to train.

It's also a good way to get to know more people in the club.

And we're always keen to maximising the opportunities for socialising

Pre-season.

First games are penned in for 16th April onwards

We may get one the week before, snow permitting

The league season starts 1st week of May.

Kent Regional fixtures will be posted at the end of the week.

Fund Raising.

For the umpteenth year Omar Khan will be co-odinating and pushing fund raising and sponsorship.

Please read any emails he sends through - and lend as much support as possible

Running any sports club in central London is costly

And financially we need to run, just to standstill to cover current expenditure

Meanwhile we have 3 projects that require capital investment.

1/ New electronic scoreboard

2/ Refurbish & upgrade nets at The Rectory

3/ Fund ground development at a second ground. Which is ongoing ~ long term ideal

The refurbishment of the nets will be a target.

It will cost some £25k.

The aim is 3 or 4 fully matted and enclosed bay - one/ two lanes facing north - south

And with matted run ups where possible

To this end.

Omar says the brochure will be bigger and better this year

More pages, more opportunities for sponsorship

Therefore dig deep and support the initiative

Ask you local shops if they can help - the take always, the estate agents, the bookies who take your money usually don't mind advertising to find even more local people who will pay them even more money

And its tax deductable for them

Worse case, they can say no

Omar also says he'll try and communicate better with past players

Both getting them involved in the Heathens XI

Or just being around the club for the big games

And there is talk of a dinner to celebrate 125 years of playing at the Rectory

Feedback welcome

Overall. Give him a hand.

Kit.

I'll be doing a kit order in the 2nd week of Feb.

Is there anything you'd like ?

Shirts & Slipover Jumpers are £22 / £23

Caps are £10 / £11

Its Surridge kit - white, with green trim. Blackheath logo

And looks smart.

Admin.

Can't think of anything else.

But let me know if there's anything missing

Regards

Jt
