Sunday 1st XI
Vic won the toss and elected to bat on a hot day, on a pitch with a lightning-fast outfield. Unfortunately, due to a late cry-off from Mehdi; we were down one batsman. Fortunately, we had planned to have 12, so still had a full complement.
Vic and Pratish made a solid start, putting on a 50 stand for the first wicket in quick time. Unfortunately, Vic went to pull an attempted bouncer which kept low and bowled him for 29. Pratish soon followed, and at 60/2 the innings was tottering a bit. Jon Neal rode to the rescue with a well-crafted…

Vic won toss and elected to bat.
Unfortunately Pratish was adjudged LBW (by Tom!) in the first over, and Alex Senn managed to poke a full toss straight back to the bowler to complete his weekend 'pair' in the 4th over. At 12/2, Dipayan and Vic set about restoring some respectability; but when Dipayan inside-edged onto his stumps for 20, Blackheath were in trouble at 45/3. Vic won the toss (at last!) And elected to bat. Openers Vic Kandampully and Jandu went in against the new ball on a slow pitch but Jandu missed a swinging full toss and was plumb LBW for 5. Patterson and Vic then built a solid partnership until JP tapped a tame return catch to the bowler for 17. This brought Dipayan Paul to the crease, who immediately started playing with great fluency. Vic and Dipayan ran hard between the wickets and both reached 50s shortly after drinks before Vic was run out by a direct hit for 54. Neal (4),…

Won toss and batted on typically good Reigate April wicket. Against a steady bowling attack, we hardly moved the scoreboard in the first 15 overs and losing a couple of wickets on the way. At 14-2, Alex Price came to the crease and played with good technique, rotating the strike and stroking several balls to the boundary on his way to a valuable 29. Vic Kandampully in his second game for the club scored a crucial 40* with some good hitting towards the end.
So after 40 overs we finished on 173, which considering the sluggish start was not a…
